Maria CirinoMaria Cirino

Co-Founder and Managing Director, .406 Ventures

Maria brings 22 years of entrepreneurial, operating and senior management sales and marketing experience in venture-backed technology companies, with particular strengths in IT security and technology-driven services. Prior to founding .406, she was Senior Vice President of VeriSign, where she was responsible for setting channel strategy, driving channel development and the sales of VeriSign's security services through its indirect channels. Previously she was CEO and co-founder of Guardent, Inc., an early entrant and leading Managed Security Services (MSS) provider, acquired by VeriSign in February 2004. Cirino has also served as a key member of the executive teams at Shiva Corporation (now Intel Corporation) and i-Cube, Inc. (now Razorfish, Inc.). A frequent industry speaker, Cirino has received numerous industry awards and recognition. In addition to Bit9, Inc., Cirino is a member of the board of directors for Keane (NYSE: KEA), the board of governors for the Entrepreneurs Foundation of New England, the board of trustees for the Massachusetts Software and Internet Council, and is a trustee at Mount Holyoke College. Cirino holds a bachelor of arts in English from Mount Holyoke College.

Richard A. ClarkeRichard A. Clarke

Chairman and CEO of Good Harbor Consulting

Richard A. Clarke is an internationally-recognized expert on security, including homeland security, national security, cyber security, and counterterrorism. He is currently an on-air consultant for ABC News and teaches at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Clarke served the last three Presidents as a senior White House Advisor. Over the course of an unprecedented 11 consecutive years of White House service, he held the titles of: Special Assistant to the President for Global Affairs, National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism, and Special Advisor to the President for Cyber Security. Prior to his White House years, Mr. Clarke served for 19 years in the Pentagon, the Intelligence Community, and State Department. During the Reagan Administration, he was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence. During the Bush (41) Administration, he was Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs and coordinated diplomatic efforts to support the 1990-1991 Gulf War and the subsequent security arrangements. As a Partner in Good Harbor, Mr. Clarke advises clients on a range of issues including: corporate security risk management, information security technology, dealing with the federal government on security and IT issue, and counterterrorism.

Jeff FagnanJeff Fagnan

Partner, Atlas Venture

Jeff Fagnan is a Partner in the technology group at Atlas Venture, and focuses on very early stage projects in enterprise and Internet infrastructure. Before joining Atlas Venture, Jeff was a Partner with Seed Capital Partners. While at Seed Capital, Jeff was the lead and founding investor in several companies including DataPower (acquired by IBM) and Polychromix (acquired by ThermoFisher). Before venture, Jeff worked for Booz Allen & Hamilton and Nortel Networks. Jeff currently serves on the Boards of Atlas portfolio companies AEB, Bit9, DataXu, Displaylink, Grockit, Keas, SimpleTuition, Songbird and Veracode. Jeff is a founder of TUGG (Technology Underwriting Greater Good), a non-profit foundation harnessing "Crowd-sourced Philanthropy" to catalyze social innovation in New England. Jeff was also a founder of Koffee for Kids, a non-profit company in Rochester, New York. Jeff received his M.B.A. with distinction from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester and a B.S. from the University of Alaska.

Patrick MorleyPatrick Morley

President and Chief Executive Officer

Patrick Morley serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bit9, Inc. Mr. Morley is an industry veteran with a well-proven track record of driving companies large and small to revenue growth and market leadership. Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself as an executive dedicated to guiding organizations to success, specializing in building and accelerating the growth of small companies into industry-leading enterprises. Serving in senior leadership roles, Mr. Morley has worked on six venture-backed software companies and three successful IPO's. Morley most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of Corel, where he led the company's global sales, marketing, and operations functions for the Americas, EMEA, and Asia. He joined Corel in 2005, playing a significant leadership role in the company's turnaround, acquisition strategy and eventual IPO. Throughout his tenure at Corel, Morley established partnerships with a vast network of IT manufacturers, retailers and resellers, relationships he continues to leverage in his ongoing management roles. Prior to Corel, Morley served as Chief Executive Officer of Massachusetts-based security company Imprivata Corporation, where he led the company from initial funding to its first product and its very first customer-win. By the time Morley left Imprivata, the company had more than 100 customers and over $10 million in revenue. As the Vice President of the Americas at Allaire Corporation, Morley grew the revenue of the company from $1M to over $100M in four years. Morley has also held management positions at Macromedia, Rational Software, SQA and IBM. He received a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Providence College.

Ron NordinRon Nordin

Ron Nordin is a leading executive in the software industry and serves as an advisor and board member to early stage technology companies, including Bit9, Awareness, and Embotics. Most recently Ron was a Senior Partner at Atlas Venture in Boston. He invested in a number of software and internet companies, including eRoom Technologies, which was acquired by Documentum in 2000 in one of the largest private software transactions of the year. Prior to Atlas, he was President and CEO of SQA Inc, a venture backed, enterprise software company. He led SQA from a start up to become a dominant player in the software quality assurance sector. Under his leadership, SQA had a successful IPO and became a highly valued public company. SQA was acquired by Rational Software , which in turn was acquired by IBM. Ron established his early career at Cognos, where he a was Senior Vice President serving on the executive team that developed the company from a start up, through an IPO to become one of the major players in the software industry.
