HBSS
Under the sponsorship of the Enterprise-wide Information Assurance and Computer Network Defense Solutions Steering Group (ESSG), the HBSS solution will be attached to each host (server, desktop, and laptop) in DoD. The goal of the system is to detect and counter, in real-time, against known cyber-threats to Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise. The chosen platform for the HBSS is McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
Bit9 has built a McAfee compatible (certified by McAfee) module to provide application whitelisting to ePO customers. This layered strategy eliminates unauthorized software and prevents configuration drift. More specifically, Bit9 helps DoD agencies stop targeted attacks, and prevent illegal use of unlicensed software and non-essential software such as peer-to-peer applications.
Bit9 Parity provides:
- Application whitelisting to ensure only authorized software is allowed to run - blocking ALL unauthorized software
- Audit new software installations or preventative blocks
- Software metering to identify to audit software execution
The Bit9 for McAfee ePO integration module enables you to:
- Prevent never seen before malware from installing or executing on McAfee ePO endpoints
- Leverage the trusted ePO framework, workflow, and system hierarchy to deploy the Bit9 Parity agent on endpoints
- Build a comprehensive software inventory that includes publisher, product, version, threat level
