The focus of the 4th Annual GFIRST National Conference is to identify and improve the coordination and collaboration among cyber responders in the public and private sector as well as their role supporting the law enforcement and physical emergency response community. The security of communications and IT systems and response and recovery of these essential systems in a crisis is greatly enhanced by interaction between various government and private sector security teams. The conference is an opportunity for public and private sector to foster increased collaboration around IT security efforts.

Tom Murphy has been invited to present within the incident response track.  Tom will be talking about the security benefits of enterprise application whitelisting, including preventing data loss, identifying malicious software and device control, including preventing the transmission of data onto unauthorized peripheral devices like thumb drives or music players.  Whitelisting applications can also allow administrators to lockdown desktops in response to breaches or suspicious activity.
