RTC Saves $250 per Desktop Every Year with Bit9
At Ringgold Telephone Company, customer service comes first. That's why protecting internal systems against damage from unauthorized and malicious software is such a top priority for RTC's Windows administrators. Fed up with too many ineffective point products that consumed too much of IT's time, RTC implemented Bit9 to get control over their Windows PCs. As a result, they have been able to save $250 per workstation annually.
This case study outlines how they accomplished this goal.
New VML Vulnerability Exposes PCs through Web and Email
The latest Microsoft vulnerability was found in the way Windows implemented the Vector Markup Language, or VML. The good news is that Microsoft has issued a rare off-the-calendar fix for this one. The bad news is that this vulnerability was discovered as an active exploit, already in use by malicious websites. Reminiscent of the WMF flaw in early 2006, this vulnerability could execute arbitrary software on users who simply view an image in IE or Outlook.
Don't wait for patches. Bit9 stops arbitrary code from running.
